To have strong and healthy hair, like any other part of the body, it is necessary to offer it  proteins, minerals, fats and vitamins; in this way we can keep them healthy.

In general, hair grows about one centimeter per month and this growth is favored by the nutrients we add to our diet. The richer and healthier our diet, the stronger the hair will be.

In addition, we can acquire the essential nutrients to grow hair by applying natural products  with a high content of vitamins and minerals.

We know that carrots are great for our health. Some of the benefits it brings to our hair are the following:

  • Contains Vitamin C and E, which improve the blood supply to the scalp. By doing so, it prevents the premature appearance of white hair.
  • Carrots protect the hair from external aggressions such as pollution, sun, climate and so on.
  • Hair loss is always accompanied by dryness and a dull and damaged appearance of the hair. Consuming carrots can make them shiny and soft.

Thanks to its vitamin content (A, B1, B2, B6, C, E, K), carrot strengthens the hair follicle and improves the appearance of the hair.

  • The consumption of this vegetable is also recommended to speed up hair growth. In fact, thanks to its high content of potassium, phosphorus and vitamins, eating carrots stimulates the hair fiber, thus reducing hair loss.

1. Carrot oil with coconut and honey

Being rich in vitamin E, carrot fights hair loss, making it shiny and resistant.

Coconut, thanks to its essential oils, is excellent for treating dandruff, for stimulating hair growth and hydration of the scalp. Honey, on the other hand, brings softness to our hair. A perfect mix for strong and healthy hair.

Ingredients

  • 2 carrots
  • 1/2 cup of coconut oil (100 g) (we can use both milk and coconut cream, in case we don’t have the oil)
  • 1 tablespoon of honey (25 g)

Tools

  • A strainer or cloth to filter

Preparation and application

  • Wash the carrot and then grate it or cut it into very small pieces to extract the juice.
  • Mix the carrot juice with the coconut oil and honey.
  • Once you have a homogeneous mixture, filter it to extract the oil.
  • Apply the oil obtained all over the scalp, from roots to ends.
  • Cover your head with a plastic cap and let it act for half an hour.
  • After the exposure time, rinse your hair as per your habit.
  • For best results, you can apply the mask every 15 days.

2. Carrot, avocado and egg mask

In addition to carrot, this mask for strong and healthy hair is made up of two excellent ingredients to regenerate the hair: avocado allows deep hydration, while the egg provides nutrients and creates a thin layer that protects the skin from external agents.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 glass of carrot juice (100 g)
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 avocado

Tools

  • A shower cap

Preparation and application

  • In a bowl, mix the carrot juice with the egg.
  • After that, open the avocado, extract the pulp and add it to the mixture previously obtained.
  • Mix everything vigorously until you get a homogeneous mixture.
  • Apply the mask on your hair as if it were a shampoo, taking care not to leave out strands.
  • Use a shower cap and let it sit overnight while you sleep. We advise you to place a towel under the pillow in case the cap moves.
  • In the morning, wash your hair with plenty of cold water.

3. Coconut oil, beetroot and moisturizer

Coconut oil

Ingredients

  • 1 carrot
  • 1 beetroot
  • 1/2 glass of water (125 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar (10 g)
  • 1/4 cup of moisturizer (50 g)

Tools

  • 1 colander

Preparation and application

  • Wash and peel the carrot and beetroot.
  • Add the carrot, beetroot, sugar and water to the glass of the blender and blend until the mixture is more or less homogeneous.
  • Filter the mixture with a colander and transfer everything to a container where the moisturizer will be added.
  • Jumbled up.
  • Before applying the mask, wash your hair as usual.
  • Apply the preparation proceeding from the roots to the tips and massaging gently.
  • Leave on for 20-30 minutes.
  • Rinse.
