In the case of desserts, the other ingredients also play an important role.

It is the preparation that can make it unhealthy. To take advantage of the benefits offered by foods, you need to combine them and, of course, prepare them correctly.

We must then pay attention to the quantity. As nutrient-rich as a food may be, if eaten in excess it will cause, at the very least, nausea or discomfort. Having said that, let’s move on to the recipe for the volcano-chocolate, a dessert that allows us to enjoy dark chocolate in a balanced and healthy way.

Although health, weight and pleasure are difficult aspects to reconcile, in reality it is not impossible. Chocolate is a food that we can indulge in.

There are several researches that confirm its health benefits. We can, therefore, consider it a pleasure to be enjoyed without too many feelings of guilt.

According to a study published in the Harvard Health journal , for example, dark chocolate is a good source of amino acids, antioxidants, minerals and vitamins. Do chocolate and health go hand in hand? Apparently yes.

To take advantage of all the good properties of this food, nothing better than preparing a soft volcano-log. Already from the name it sounds appetizing, doesn’t it?

The most interesting part is that you can consume it from time to time without remorse. The important thing is to control the portions so as not to exceed the recommended calories. Enjoy your meal!

Ingredients

  • 250 g of dark chocolate with a high percentage of cocoa
  • 150 g of brown sugar
  • 100 g unsalted vegetable margarine (can be substituted with almond puree or apple compote)
  • 200 g of whole wheat flour
  • 4 medium eggs

Preparation

  • First, have the utensils and ingredients you will need for preparation at hand.
  • After you are well organized, start melting the dark chocolate in a double boiler.
  • Remember, to avoid burning the chocolate, you need to keep the heat low and stir constantly.
  • When the pieces have melted, add the unsalted margarine. Continue to mix until you get a homogeneous and smooth cream.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until completely dissolved. Immediately after, pour the wholemeal flour. Do this gradually to prevent lumps from forming.
  • It is time to combine the contents of the two bowls, the chocolate cream and the dough with the flour. Mix carefully.
  • Pour the mixture into a non-stick mold. Finish by placing a square of chocolate in the center.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes. 
  • Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool a little to room temperature.
  • Serve it accompanied by a cup of matcha tea or a good infusion. If you don’t like hot drinks, you can opt for a glass of lemonade.
